     Perched at the
very tip of Aurlandsfjord, tiny Flåm stands between rocky walls and deep,
still water. From here an electric train starts a 12-mile, 3,000-foot climb,
passing through tunnels and zigzagging between mountain tops, before finally
emerging at lofty Myrdal. Return by the same route, or take another
spectacularly scenic ride through the Romsdal Alps. This is one of the
prettiest parts of all of Scandinavia. |
